Veronica believes (and we couldn’t agree more) that all the artists need their own inspiration, so she get hers from nature, from new collections featured in magazines, from architecture projects and even from the work of some of her colleagues. She aims to design the interior of a private villa on the Atlantic coast, and we’re sure she’ll make it. Veronica kindly answer us some questions, and we are proud to show you them now. Enjoy:

Being in love with our work is always the key to achieve better results. Are you in love with this job? What do you love the most about being an interior designer?
I’m sure that just being in love with the interior design work it’s enough to create something interesting, as well as to constantly evolve and achieve new levels of excellence. I love the entire creative process of creating interiors: I like beautiful materials, beautiful shapes and combinations of colors and shades, beautiful furnishings, lamps, fabrics and accessories – and anything that can help me creating my interiors.

Do you have a favorite project or a favorite story about one of your projects?
I do all my designs as I wish they were made for me. I love all my designs. I grow through my works, looking for ideal solutions. I can give you an example from my recent experience. Clients saw some photos of interiors made by me in an interior’s edition and they decided to order the interior project of their new apartment from me. We found a deep mutual understanding, and they took all my suggestions and ideas. After finishing the project when I did a professional photo and showed it to the clients they said to me: “If we saw those pictures in the magazine we would apply to you again!”. I was very pleased!

How important is to have the perfect chemistry between you and your clients in order to achieve the best results?

It’s very very important! Such a close creative work requires a full understanding with my clients. I have to understand – and sometimes to guess – all the desires of the client and to convince him of the correctness of certain design decisions. Only when the client trusts me and relies on my professionalism I can make beautiful and high quality work.

Do you think working with teams in interior design is better or worse than working alone? Why?
I do all my projects by myself. I invite doers, of course, but all the solutions and ideas are mine. I have no experience of cooperation with other designers. I think it is not acceptable for me. In these cases, it would be necessary to seek compromises in ideas and solutions and maybe it
will not allow me to embody the entire idea. Every detail, like forms and the right color’s shades, are important to me and I wouldn’t want any outside intervention in my concept.

Keep up to date on all the trends is essential for anyone who wants to conquer this market. In what ways do you keep current with new trends?
It is extremely important. I visit international fairs like ISaloni in Milan and Maison and Objet in Paris every year, and I monitor the best interior publications in print media and Internet.

How would you describe your work style? Do you have any kind of “signatures” that can help to identify your projects?
My clients use to say that they can identify my interiors if they see them in magazines. I believe that this is possible thanks to the special combination of colors I use (I like complex and multivariate combinations) as well as the special approach to textile artwork and the attention to the correct proportions and all the details.

If you had to pick one project around the world that you wish it had been made by you, which would it be?
This is a very difficult question. Times are changing, I am changing and even my dreams are changing too. At different periods of my life I get different ideas that I wish to embody. Now I would like to create an interior of a private villa in Normandy, on the coast of the Atlantic, with a contemporary style, large panoramic windows and splendid views of the ocean. Of course, with an unlimited budget of the client.

To choose the best pieces that will compose a project can be the secret to get the best overall result. Although it seems easy, this is a delicate task and needs full attention on time to execute it. Do you have some tips for those who do not know well how to start a challenge like this?
I will not reveal all my professional secrets but I can give a couple of tips. There are so many beautiful items able to capture your imagination that you often want to use them all in your projects. Try to resist the temptation of using them if they don’t fit the style of your project and all the design concept. But if you decide to use some unusual and unexpected objects, try to create a balance and to maintain the harmony in the whole space through other things. It is a very difficult task but the results can be stunning.

Which are your favorite brands, those that can never miss in one of your projects?
There are a number of reliable suppliers whom I can trust in that they will deliver a quality product at agreed time, there are a lot of them. The selection of the products depends on the task and specific detail of the project.

Let’s see some of Veronica’s projects:
